Beaverton, Ore. – (June 26, 2014) – Shari’s Café & Pies today announced the proceeds generated with the 19th Annual “Grip It & Rip It” charity golf scramble.  The final total from this year’s event was over $128,000 donated to continue the excellent work of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Portland.  Shari’s enhanced their Boys & Girls Clubs fundraising effort for 2014 with a one week promotion in the Greater Portland/Vancouver area in which a $1 was donated for every pie sold at Shari’s the week of June 2nd, which raised over $5,000.

“The Boys & Girls Clubs do life-changing work with children in our Oregon communities, and Shari’s is proud of the partnership we’ve made over the past 19 years,” said Bruce MacDiarmid, CEO of Shari’s Management Corporation.  “As a locally owned Oregon Company, we are thrilled that we were able to raise this amount of money, thanks to the generous support of our vendor partners and friends.”

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Portland CEO, Erin Hubert claimed this year’s golf scramble was a huge success.

“Shari’s is an outstanding partner,” Hubert stated.  “The generous donation of $128,442 will be used to sustain our youth  guidance and development programs as well as expand our buildings and our staff.”

The  single-day event starts with a morning golf scramble for Sharii’s participants, followed by an afternoon round of golf for the Boys & Girls Club supporters, with a shared lunch.  Over the past 20 years of its involvement with the Boys & Girls Clubs, Shari’s has raised over $2 Million for the charity.
